Church History & Information
Faith Gospel Church was formed in September of 1993. Most of the founding members were former Freewill Baptists. The first building that they worshipped in was a remodeled store in Mineral Wells, WV. They had their first service at the current location (Lost Pavement Rd, South Parkersburg) on Easter morning of 1997.
Jack Norman was the founding pastor who served from 1993 through most of 1998. Dave Long served as Faith Gospel's second pastor through part of 2000. In September of 2000, Jason Stutler was elected as the third and current pastor.
As a non-denominational church, Faith Gospel has at least 9 different denominational backrounds represented, such as baptist, methodist, full gospel, and nazarene just to name a few. We are not a charasmatic church, however we do love to praise our Jesus.
Our church is very young in age, with an average attendance of 95+ people. On a typical Sunday moring, about 30% of our congregation is under the age of 20. If you have children, Faith Gospel is definately the place for you!
Our Sunday school has 6 different classes to pick from. The first class is for begginers (3-5). The second class is our Elementary Class (6-8). The third is our Intermidiate Class (9-12). The fourth class is for the High Schoolers (13-18). The adults have 2 sunday school classes to choose from: Regular Adult Bible Study, and Special Interest Classes.
Worship services at Faith Gospel are conservative in style. We still sing the "old hymns" of faith, and our sermons are straight to the point with no appologies. While you can expect an "old-fashion and hard" sermon from Pastor Jason, you will also realize that he genuinly cares for your soul.
